You will find that many of the topics formerly addressed on the website have been moved to our research guides. We have done this is order to more directly tie information services to the curriculum, allow for faster updates, and use the LRC website more as a 1st stop directional tool for students, faculty, and perspective students.
We now have a new on-ramp to our electronic databases: Direct Access to Electronic Databases
Please e-mail the College Librarian if you still can not gain access to the databases
We have taken a somewhat different approach with the new website. You will find more information and resources in the Research Guides, than before. Additionally, there is greater emphasis on learning research skills directly linked to the needs of GSC students, tools for planning your research assignments, and specific instructions for using the databases offered by the LRC. Visit the Student Services page to learn more.
As a GSC student you will find that we offer online research assistance- anything from how to access databases to developing a full research paper – when you need it. Our student-centered approach guarantees that you will receive assistance within 24 hrs. of submitting a request for help. Simply Contact the GSC Librarian and help is on the way!
There is a section in the new Research Toolkit that is just for you. It offers resources on developing effective research assignments, collaboration opportunities with the GSC librarian, and the ways to schedule research tutorials for your online and F2F students. Visit the Faculty Services page to learn more.
